Turning the corner.
The finished wood pieces. Also the shifter sight shield was replaced using a piece from a Honda nose mask. The perfect thickness, just had to be cut down to 1". Nice texture on it also.

After getting most of the console put back together I noticed smoke drifting out of the shifter. Found the lighter bulb socket had shorted and melted the wire. I'm impressed with the sound from the water damaged front speakers. Well, not overly impressed. I'll have to replace them eventually.
